MRT LEAP 1-1 Program

In the MRT LEAP Program, you’ll work 1-1 with certified Lifestyle Eating and Performance (LEAP) therapist Jenna Volpe to help you tackle your diet-induced inflammation at the root-cause level, once and for all!

Step 1:  Initial consultation

In the initial consultation we’ll gather all the information needed to help us identify your body’s best foods, based on your health history, diet history, digestive patterns, food preferences, and more.

Step 2: Mediator release testing (MRT)

Once we’ve established your goals and we have a baseline, it’s time to run the Mediator Release (MRT) food sensitivity test (a blood test) to help us identify which foods and chemicals are triggering inflammation in your body.

Examples of diet-induced inflammation can include, but isn’t limited to, the following:

• Diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D)
• Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
• Skin rashes/breakouts
• Headaches/migraines
• Autoimmunity
• Hormone imbalance / Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
• Joint pain / arthritis
• Fibromyalgia

Keep in mind, this is not an allergy test or a food intolerance test, so it won’t pick up on those types of adverse food reactions.  This is just a food sensitivity test.

You’ll receive a hardcopy of your test results and a 50+ page LEAP resource booklet in the mail, within a few weeks after your blood draw.

Next, we’ll meet via a follow-up consultation (over Zoom) to unpack your MRT test results and co-create a custom 6-phase LEAP elimination diet & reintroduction plan tailored to YOU!

(This is done based on your test results, food preferences, eating patterns, and unique bio-individual needs.)

Step 4:  Additional follow-up and reintroduction

Throughout the duration of this program, you’ll be advised to keep a detailed food-symptom journal so we’ll be crystal clear on which foods work best for your body – and which ones don’t.

The final piece of this program is to begin adding foods back strategically, one by one, as tolerated.

What is MRT testing?

MRT stands for “mediator release testing”.

This is a type of food sensitivity test which measures the level at which your white blood cells release chemical mediators (like cytokines), in response to certain foods or chemicals.

The degree to which your white blood cells shrink in density and volume shows us the degree to which they’re reacting to a particular food extract.

How much does the MRT test cost?

The retail price for just the MRT test is $695.

However, in this MRT LEAP 1-1 program, the cost of the MRT test is bundled in with 4 consultations and a custom meal plan at a rate of $1,295 for everything.
